Dermapen is the namesake device of Dermapen Co., a subsidiary of FD Holdings LLC. CNN, ABC NEWS, USA TODAY, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, HARPER’s BAZAAR, and more have featured this procedure. As of late, however, this cosmetic procedure has been gaining plenty of traction in the United States! But, what is it? How does it tighten your skin? And, are you a good candidate?

What Is Dermapen?

Dermapen, like Kleenex, is something you request by name. Why? When Kleenex launched their first set of boxes of tissues, they flooded the personal hygiene market. All thanks to branding, Kleenex became the household name for every personal tissue. For years to come, people wouldn’t ask for a “tissue” or a “Puffs”, they ask for a “Kleenex.”

Similarly, Dermapen has trademarked its proprietary device and has become a synonym for microneedling. To clarify, microneedling is exactly what it sounds like. That is to say, a collection of very tiny needles together that are inserted and retracted from your skin. In other words, “the Dermapen microneedling pen uses sterile, individually-sealed, disposable needle cartridges for optimal patient safety and comforts,” says Dermapen Co.

Tightening Your Skin

“Every Dermapen needle tip is actually made up of 12 smaller needles, which use proprietary technology to penetrate vertically into the skin. This creates small micro-skin channels while stimulating the skin’s natural ability to heal itself,” increasing the production of new collagen. That which, in turn, “is the formation of strong, insoluble fibers that serve as [the] connective tissue between cells.”

These needles allow for “penetration deep into the dermis fibroblasts and [feeds] the cells found in the dermis and basal layers.” Then, this increases the absorption of active ingredients into the skin. Ultimately, “stimulating repair at a cellular level and accelerating the regeneration of the skin’s epidermal cells.”

Are You Ready for Dermapen?

According to Dermapen Co., there are a number of conditions that are treatable with Dermapen. Including, wrinkles, stretch marks, wound scars, acne scars, fine lines, loose skin, large pores, and discoloration. “Regardless of your skin color or type, microneedling is the best treatment you can have to have to make your skin look fresh and younger!”
