LipoDissolve is a cosmetic product composed of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate (PCDC). Yes, we don’t know how to pronounce those words either. But, PCDC breaks down fat cells, thereafter that smoothing out the targeted area. Interestingly, PCDC resembles, and behaves like, a naturally- occurring hormone that aids in fat digestion. So, is Lipodissolve right for you? What should you know about Lipodissolve before going into your doctor’s office?
Who’s A Candidate?
Lipodissolve is not right for everyone. Doctors will only recommend the product for those who want to eliminate small pockets of fat. Remember that Lipodissolve is similar to a naturally occurring hormone in your body. So, a syringe or two of this product is only to target one specific area that your body couldn’t handle on its own. Lipodissolve cannot treat large-scale fat areas, not even if your doctor wanted it to. And, of course, pregnant women are not eligible for Lipodissolve.
Is Lipodissolve Safe?
When it comes to safety, there’s much debate. Surrounding the issue is a lack of FDA approval. Meaning, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States has not tested the product’s efficacy with regards to its claims. Or, the agency has tested the product and has found that its claims are untrue. In some cases, the side effects of a product may outweigh the benefits. Still, that has not stopped physicians from using the product. Why?
When the FDA approves a product, it holds the manufacturer of said product accountable to a higher authority. More than that, it provides a forum wherein consumers can list their concerns or even take legal action. However, just because the FDA withholds its approval, does not necessarily mean that a product is harmful or bad. As previously noted, it could simply mean that its claims were not satisfactorily proven.
Herein patient discretion is highly advised.
What Kind of Results You Can Expect
As is expected, Lipodissolve takes time to show results, after all, it behaves like a hormone. It takes approximately six to eight treatments to see changes. Yes, it is possible to see a noticeable change after just one session but, it’s very rare. Still, after some weeks or months, you can expect a loss of roughly two to six centimeters per treatment. Then, results only last a few months after treatment is stopped.
Yes, Lipoissolve uses a process that reduces fat over time, but this procedure still requires you to eat a healthy diet and maintain an exercise routine. If you adopt an unhealthy lifestyle, it can lead to a reappearance of fat pockets.
What Are The Downtime and Side Effects?
Most individuals return to their normal activities within a couple of days. The FDA warns that you may experience
- permanent scarring
- skin deformation
- deep, painful knots under the skin in areas where the treatment occurred
You may require extended downtime if you have such side effects. In such cases, you should immediately contact your doctor.
Alternatives to Lipodissolve
If the thought of Lipodissolve is not appealing, then you may consider fat freezing.
