What is Cupping?
The practice of cupping dates back centuries, when glasses were heated and used in massage therapy. Today cupping is used similarly for massage therapy, as well as recovery, performance, and sports enhancement, cellulite reduction, and the list goes on.
Do We Use Fire-Heated Glasses?
No, we do not. Instead of reverting to the medieval practice of using glass, modern technology has afforded the advantage of using silicone and rubber cups. These cups combined with air pressure—essentially what the fire would do—are specially designed for comfort. While there are multiple different cups to choose from, each cup is used for a specific purpose.
What Are The Benefits of Cupping?
To name a few:
- Healthy Blood Circulation
- Reduced Inflammation
- Removal of Toxins
- Improved Respiratory Health/Function
- Simulated Digestion
- Reduced Head Tension/Migraines
- Increased Range of Motion
- Improved Physical Performance and Agility
Are There Any Residual Effects?
While you may see residual “Cup Kisses” or “Cupping Marks”, most discoloration are dispersed soon after treatment has ended or been stopped. Most discolorations are the cause of a previous injury, displaced lactic acid or buildup of toxins brought to the surface. For more information, please consult with your doctor.
